Wild Hawk

Wild Hawk

Justine Davis, Justine Dare

Justine Davis, Justine Dare

Jason Hawk only came to his father's funeral to spit on his grave. That was the best the old man deserved from the bastard son he'd never given a damn about. The son whose plan for revenge had now been derailed by Aaron Hawk's death. Or had it?Kendall Chase was Aaron Hawk's smart and efficient executive assistant, and had come to know a side of the old man that few saw. But convincing Jason there had been more to his father, more to his whole life's story than Jason knew, wasn't easy. He was as tough as the father he hated. And more compelling than any man she'd ever met.Convincing him the mysterious Hawk family book, a history now chronicling treachery and murder, had answers even for things yet to occur, was a much bigger job. Despite his attraction to her, the only part of Kendall's stories Jason believes is that his father's vicious widow is determined to see that Jason gets none of the inheritance left him.In the end, Jason has to make a decision. Is the magic real? Or more importantly, is the revenge he's wanted for nearly 30 years, worth losing Kendall?

White Sand

White Sand

Sanderson, Brandon

Romance / M F Romance / Womens Fiction / Chick Lit

White Sand is a novel with many spelling mistakes with a quite fun plot about restoring the power of the sand mages. If you like political maneuvering go for it. Some neat fight scenes with the sand magic. A lot of betrayals and secret dramas and secrets and quirky characters. The native culture is pretty awesome but the foreign ones are rather undeveloped, and the female representative not great. So, excellent plot action, a setting that needs some work to fully come together, and a small number of very strong characters. Thought by many to be the better of the two novels (White Sand, The Aether of Night.)

Casserine

Casserine

Bernard Lee DeLeo

Fiction / Paranormal / Fantasy

Casserine takes the reader on a futuristic journey with a conservative bent. Duty and honor, in this Sci-Fi adventure, infuses the tale from beginning to end. If you love it when political correctness takes a hit, and touchy feely space operas bore you, Casserine will take you where you want to go. This nonstop rush across space, from one battlefield to another, illustrates a far different handling of Alien cultures. A nearly superhuman Marine finds love in a most unusual way, and when duty rips him from her, he uses any means necessary, within his code of honor, to return to their small universe. Chosen to lead the most powerful space force ever assembled, because of a fluke mixing of DNA with an Alien monster, Jake Matthews spares no entity standing in the way of his mission. He vows to forge an unbeatable engine of destruction, powerful enough to force peace across eternal space. Casserine provides a wild ride for a reader who wishes to see a vista of future America, where citizens across the galaxies pledge allegiance to one Earth nation’s flag. In so doing, they birth an empire of single minded purpose, and incredible power.
